Help

This page explains some of the features of our website.

FeatureDetails
Search Located at the top of the side menu bar is a Site Search box. The search feature on our site utilises the Sphider search script to track our pages and match your search enquiry. This script is hosted on our server so you will not be redirected to any third party site to perform a site search.

The Search Results page will allow you to customise your search by allowing you to choose if you wish to match all keywords (AND) or any keywords (OR), and you can also select the number of results displayed. You can also access this Advanced Search page by using the top menu bar option “Search”
Be notified of page changes The ChangeDetection feature allows you to keep an eye on the page(s) of your choice and be notified by email when there are any changes. When viewing the page you wish to monitor simply enter your email address and click “OK”. This feature is provided by ChangeDetection.com and is totally free. An email containing details of how to unsubscribe will be sent after you register.
View Page Change Log Most pages include a link in the side menu bar that allows you to view recent changes to that page. This feature is provided by the ChangeDetection.com website so you will be redirected to a new site which will show you a log of changes detected for that page.
Tell a Friend This lets you send an email to someone containing a link back to the relevant page of the website. If we can not detect which page you came from the script will send a link to the website Home Page instead. You can also include a short message with the link to let your friend know what it is about. This feature is part of our website and is not provided by any third party.
Print Friendly This will load into a new browser window a version of the page that can be easily printed. The print friendly version does not contain any menu information and the width of the page is set so text will fit on a standard A4 width page. This page will not auto-print, it simply loads into a new window so you can see it before you print it from your browser, however a link that will activate the print function and a link to close the window will appear at the top of the page. These two features do use javascript so if you prefer not to use javascript you can simply use the File -> Print menu option to print the page.
RSS 2.0 Feed Latest news and updates on submissions, petitions, etc, are published on our RSS (Really Simple Syndication) Feed so you can be sure to stay up-to-date on all important activities. Our RSS Feed is compliant with RSS 2.0 standards and can be accessed using the RSS link in the side menu bar "Links" section, or by clicking on the RSS Icon RSS at the bottom of every page. Need more information on RSS Feeds? Click Here for our RSS Help Page.
W3C Compliant The majority of our site has been checked using the HTML Markup Validator and CSS Validator on the W3C website. Most pages are written using, and validate to, XHTML 1.0 Strict standard, with pages that include the Comments script validated to XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) This site is formatted using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Although primarily intended for Firefox browsers the layout has been tested using Internet Explorer and Firefox so it should display well on any CSS compliant browser.
User Comments Most of our Articles and Stories include User Comments at the end. Any person viewing the site may leave their comments to the article. Note however that IP addresses are recorded and all instances of spam or hate postings will be reported to the ISP.
Link opens new window This icon Ext indicates that a hyperlink will open into a new browser window, if you have javascript enabled. If java is disabled, or there is no icon shown, the hyperlink will open into the same window.
